Trace Adkins has signed a label with Show Dog-Universal, the label of fellow country music star Toby Keith.

Adkins has been with Capitol Records for 15 years, but decided to sign with the new label after spending time on tour with Keith last summer.

The "Honky Tonk Badonkadonk" singer made a surprise entrance at a press conference in Nashville on Wednesday to announce the Show Dog-Universal Music merger, then signed his new contract in front of reporters.

Adkins career has been highlighted by number one hits such as "(This Ain't) No Thinkin' Thing", "Ladies Love Country Boys" and "You're Gonna Miss This." He released his last album, X, in 2008. It reached number seven on the U.S. country chart.
