Brad Paisley's Fathers Helps Save Life Backstage

Brad Paisley's father was involved in saving the life of someone who suffered a heart attack backstage at INTRUST Bank Arena in Wichita, Kansas, prior to his son's concert last weekend.

According to the Wichita Eagle, a venue worker had collapsed in an arena hallway, and Brad's dad, Doug Paisley, who happens to be a volunteer firefighter and EMT, saw the man lying on the floor in distress and immediately began performing CPR.

Eventually, paramedics arrived on the scene and took over for the country star's father.

"I kind of backed off and let (the paramedics) use theirs," Doug explained. "If the man's life was saved, it was because a lot of things came together."

"There's nothing heroic about this," he continued. "Heroic is when you're standing on the front lines in Afghanistan or Iraq."

Steve Cotter, director of Sedgwick County EMS, however, insists that Doug's efforts "definitely . . . helped sustain the gentleman until we got there."
