New Gretchen Wilson Album Due March 30
Gretchen Wilson has announced that her upcoming album, I Got Your Country Right Here, will be released March 30. It will be the singer's first release since leaving Columbia Records to form her own label, Redneck Records.The album, which was produced with John Rich and Blake Chancey, features the single "Work Hard, Play Harder." It is her first studio effort in three years, since 2007's One of the Boys.
"Every song on it is one that I truly believe in," Wilson told The Boot. "I feel like I've invested a lot of time and thought and energy and emotions into this record. I feel like I sang better on this record than I ever have."
Wilson's first Greatest Hits album was recently released by Columbia in order to satisfy her recording contract with the label. The album features 10 of her hit songs, including "Redneck Woman," "Homewrecker," "One of the Boys," "Come to Bed" and "Here for the Party," as well as a live cover of Heart's 1977 classic, "Barracuda."
