Remaining Chicks Pick New Name

With only two Dixie Chicks contributing to their next album, Martie Maguire and Emily Robison have decided to put the effort out under a different name.

Singer Natalie Maines is taking a break and the remaining Chicks are going to put out their next album under the name Court Yard Hounds, which Rolling Stone says is a reference to the Ian Livingstone novel City of Thieves.

Recording for the new album has already begun. They plan to put it out in May.

Court Yard Hounds will feature Emily on lead vocals and will feature Jakob Dylan - Bob Dylan's son and frontman of the band the Wallflowers - on the tune "See You in the Spring."

Court Yard Hounds are scheduled to make their premiere performance at the South by Southwest music festival.
