Underwood To Sing Anthem At Super Bowl
Carrie Underwood will sing the "Star-Spangled Banner" at this year's Super Bowl, joining a long lineup of artists honored with singing before the big game in the past.Last year's National Anthem singer was Jennifer Hudson, while other past performers include Billy Joel, Beyoncé and Whitney Houston.
Underwood, 26, will not be the only guest performer at this year's Super Bowl, however. Queen Latifah will sing "America the Beautiful" prior to the game, while Rock and Roll Hall of Famers the Who will provide the half-time entertainment.
Super Bowl XLIV will take place in Miami on Sunday, February 7. The AFC champions, the Indianapolis Colts, will take on the NFC champions, the New Orleans Saints.
Underwood's and Latifah's performances will be televised live on CBS Sports prior to kickoff, the NFL and CBS announced today.
