Morgan Myles got engaged to Taylor Place at her home in Nashville back on July 14. But the one-time Voice contestant revealed that there was drama along with romance involved in her engagement. Myles returned home from a Los Angeles recording studio for what her parents told her was a surprise birthday party. “On the way, my mom goes, ‘Oh, my God. Our neighbor next door said that there’s cops at the house,’” Myles recalls. “So immediately, I go to the worst because I was doing my laundry, and there’s an older dryer upstairs, and I thought I had set the house on fire.”

The singer wanted to frantically run into the house when they arrived, but her mom ushered her toward her backyard. “I see Taylor holding flowers in the backyard, and I go, ‘What the hell?’ I can’t even process,” she reveals. “The only thing I hear from Taylor is just, ‘Will you…’ He’s on one knee, and I go, ”Wait, are we not going to the birthday party?’ And he goes, ‘Babe, you got to say yes.
