Dustin Lynch And Jelly Roll’s Collaboration, “Chevrolet,” Reaches No. 1 On Country Airplay Chart

Dustin Lynch’s new single, “Chevrolet,” featuring Jelly Roll, jumps up two spots this week to reach No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart. The hit collaboration becomes Lynch’s ninth Country Airplay chart-topper and Jelly Roll’s fifth. Songwriting credits on “Chevrolet” go to Chase McGill, Jessi Alexander, and Hunter Phelps. Mentor Williams also receives a songwriter billing on the track, as Lynch’s current single interpolates Dobie Gray’s Williams-penned classic, “Drift Away,” which reached No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 back in 1973. “The response to this song has been absolutely wild to see in our live shows from way early on,” Lynch says of his hit single. “This iconic melody from ‘Drift Away’ is deep within all of us, and connects us instantly for such an epic sing-along. There’s a nostalgia to it that just feels good, and it becoming my ninth No. 1 on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart means so much, especially since I get to celebrate this with my buddy Jelly.” (Billboard)
