Dolly Parton’s Dollywood Foundation Invests $4.5 Million In Nashville Public Library Literacy Program

Dolly Parton continues to make a positive, lasting impact on childhood literacy. The country legend’s Dollywood Foundation has just made a $4.5 million investment with the Nashville Public Library to help launch a new early literacy program called Begin Bright. The program will deliver a Little Library to every childcare center in the county, which will all be filled with Parton’s Imagination Library books and educational resources from the library. According to the Nashville Public Library Foundation, Parton’s $4.5 million investment is “the most significant gift” in the foundation’s 27-year history. “I really believe this partnership can make a huge impact on inspiring a love of reading for children and families,” Parton said in a statement. “And one of the best parts is that Nashville can once again light the way for the nation.” The library plans to roll out the Begin Bright program in the spring of 2025.
